Volunteer

Join Seen&Heard in empowering system-impacted youth in Los Angeles and the Antelope Valley. As a volunteer, you can support former foster youth, transition-age (TAY) youth, and survivors of trafficking as they build brighter futures. Through trauma-informed arts education and professional development programs, your time and commitment can help these young individuals develop essential skills and confidence. Whether you’re interested in mentoring, assisting with workshops, or providing administrative support, your involvement is crucial. By volunteering with Seen&Heard, you become part of a community dedicated to uplifting youth through creativity and resilience. Ready to make an impact?

Become a Mentor (coming Jan 2026!)

Hybrid role: virtual and in-person

Make a lasting impact by mentoring system-impacted youth! As a mentor, you’ll guide a young adult in building confidence, professional skills, and assist in navigating workplace or educational environments to ensure their success. This is a meaningful and hands-on commitment, but you won’t be doing it alone—we provide structured training and a supportive community.

If you haven’t already, check out our program to see what subjects we cover in our professional development program. We run trainings twice a year for individuals who complete an interest form, an interview, and a background check. The process takes about six weeks, followed by a half-day Saturday training in January or June.

Lead a Workshop

Virtual

Use your expertise to make an impact by leading a Zoom workshop for at-promise youth! Whether you specialize in a specific industry or have a hobby or another valuable skill, your knowledge can provide young people with insights to help them determine what industry to enter, or how to feel more well-rounded. These workshops create a space for learning, engagement, and inspiration, offering foster youth the chance to explore new interests and gain real-world knowledge.

We welcome professionals, skilled hobbyists, and passionate individuals to share their knowledge in a one-time virtual session, typically lasting 60–90 minutes. Our team will help host and coordinate the workshop, ensuring it is accessible, engaging, and beneficial from start to finish. You’ll have the opportunity to connect with youth, answer their questions, and provide guidance in a supportive environment. A background check is mandatory, but no training is required.

Your expertise can help foster youth build confidence and discover new possibilities. Sign up today to lead a workshop!
