Adapting to Change: Serving LA-Based Former Foster Youth, Transition Age Youth, and Survivors of Trafficking

It’s clear the philanthropic and economic landscape has been shifting, and nonprofits have had to find nimble and innovative ways to continue their critical work. Even in these uncertain times, Seen&Heard’s mission of developing the professional character of system-impacted youth through trauma-informed performing arts training is more in demand than ever. Thanks to our unwavering partners and supporters, we are adapting and scaling our operations to serve more LA-based system-impacted youth than ever before. Our message is reaching more people than ever, and the demand for our proven, unique, youth-centered program continues to grow.

Thanks to the ongoing support of our donors and partners, we’ve been able to maintain our free programming for youth and partner agencies. We are now evolving our program to meet new challenges as well. With the generous backing of the Fox Foundation, we’re exploring new social enterprise approaches and expanding our volunteer-based mentorship model—innovations that will ensure our impact remains strong for years to come.

Expanding Opportunity: More Cohorts for LA’s Former Foster Youth, TAY, and Trafficking Survivors

Seen&Heard remains committed to providing essential support and opportunity to youth in foster care and beyond—even in the face of uncertain political and economic futures. Our promise to our partners and the students we serve is to continue scaling our operations, bringing the aid and support we provide to a greater number of system-impacted youth through more cohorts per year—something your support has made directly possible.

Let’s continue serving this community:

  • Forward this message to someone who should know about our work.
  • Become a donor today—or, if you already give, consider increasing your support.
  • If you have access to a community or event space, let us know—we’re always looking for new venues in LA County to bring our program.

Thank you for believing in Seen&Heard and for helping us create a steady, reliable source of hope for youth who need it most.

With deep appreciation,
Regan Williams

We are currently enrolling for our Fall cohorts, which begin the week of August 11th and continue through December 15th. These virtual cohorts are open to system-impacted youth in LA County ages 16-24.
